Director General David Cheng-Wei Wu and Mrs. Wu attended the flag-raising ceremony on October 10, organized by the KMT Australia Branch to celebrate the National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan) .
At the reception afterwards, DG Wu shared the theme of President Lai’s National Day address this morning — “The Power to Move Forward: Six Key Strengths” — which highlight democracy, innovation and economic development, social care capacity, diplomacy, defense resilience, and civic virtue.
DG Wu noted that Taiwan’s integrated diplomacy leverages its unique position in the democratic values chain, the non-red supply chain, and the first island chain in the Indo-Pacific. This Three-Chain Strategy, together with Taiwan’s pursuit of peace through strength and its efforts to join the CPTPP, will contribute to greater stability across the region.
He further emphasized that Taiwan’s democracy demonstrates how Chinese civilization and democracy are fully compatible, making it globally significant. DG Wu expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the strong support of the Taiwanese community, looked forward to continued collaboration, and wished the Republic of China (Taiwan) a happy birthday.
