Ombudsman announces results of direct investigation operation into unsuccessful delivery of electronic tax returns submitted by members of public to Inland Revenue Department

The following is issued on behalf of the Office of The Ombudsman:

     The Ombudsman, Mr Jack Chan, today (August 31) announced the completion of a direct investigation operation into the unsuccessful delivery of electronic tax returns submitted by members of the public to the Inland Revenue Department (IRD), with 18 improvement recommendations made to the IRD. The IRD has accepted all the recommendations.      The Office is pleased to note that besides accepting all the recommendations, the IRD has already implemented some of them.
