The Lands Department today posted land resumption notices for the third batch of Phase 1 and the first batch of Phase 2 of the San Tin Technopole (STT) development, alongside acquisition notices for the Phase 2 development.
Under the Lands Resumption Ordinance, a total of eight private lots, covering an area of about 0.3 hectares, will be resumed for the third batch of Phase 1 development.
Furthermore, a total of 1,043 private lots, covering an area of about 44.2 hectares, will be resumed for the first batch of Phase 2 development.
In addition, government land occupied by 67 graves and 148 urns, covering an area of about 1,985 sq m, as well as land occupied by two fishponds totalling 325 sq m, will be acquired under the Land Acquisition (Possessory Title) Ordinance.
All of the land will officially revert to the Government on December 26.
The department will post notices in relevant areas about three months before the departure deadlines for the affected parties, estimating that those affected by both the third batch of Phase 1 and the first batch of Phase 2 development will need to move out starting from the first quarter of 2027.
The STT project spans a total area of approximately 540 hectares and is being rolled out in two phases, with Stage 1 works having commenced at the end of 2024.
Upon its full operation, the project is expected to provide over 300,000 full-time jobs for the Hong Kong economy as a whole.
The first batch of residents under the Phase 1 development will start moving in progressively from 2031.
