The Hurricane Signal No. 10 issued by the Hong Kong Observatory earlier this morning (September 24) remains in force.

As at 8am, the Home Affairs Department opened 49 temporary shelters in various districts and 747 people sought refuge at the shelters.

Regarding reports of fallen trees, the Government’s 1823 Call Centre, the Fire Services Department and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department received 55 reports, 157 reports and one report respectively as at 9am.

In addition, as at 9am, the Civil Engineering and Development Department received one report of landslide while the Drainage Services Department received six reports of flooding.

According to the Hospital Authority, as at 8am, 19 people (11 males and eight females) were injured during the typhoon period. They received medical treatments at the Accident and Emergency departments of public hospitals.

According to the Hospital Authority, as at 7am, 13 people (seven males and six females) were injured during the typhoon period. They received medical treatments at the Accident and Emergency departments of public hospitals.

The Hong Kong Observatory issued the Hurricane Signal No. 10 at 2.40am today (September 24). It replaced the Increasing Gale or Storm Signal No.9.

As at 2am, the Home Affairs Department opened 49 temporary shelters in various districts and 718 people sought refuge at the shelters.

Regarding reports of fallen trees, the Government’s 1823 Call Centre and the Fire Services Department received five and 10 reports respectively as at 2am.

In addition, as at 2am, the Civil Engineering and Development Department received one report of landslide. No report of flooding has been received so far.

According to the Hospital Authority, as at 2am, five people (three males and two females) were injured during the typhoon period. They received medical treatments at the Accident and Emergency departments of public hospitals.

     The No. 8 Southeast Gale or Storm Signal issued by the Hong Kong Observatory this afternoon (September 24) remains in force.

     As at 3pm, the Home Affairs Department opened 50 temporary shelters in various districts and 869 people sought refuge at the shelters.
                  
     Regarding reports of fallen trees, the Government’s 1823 Call Centre, the Fire Services Department and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department received 361 reports, 337 reports and two reports respectively as at 3pm.
              
     In addition, as at 3pm, the Civil Engineering and Development Department received one report of landslide while the Drainage Services Department received 16 reports of flooding.
                  
     According to the Hospital Authority, as at 3pm, 82 people (47 males and 35 females) were injured during the typhoon period. They received medical treatment at accident and emergency departments of public hospitals.

Attention duty announcers of radio and television stations:

     Please broadcast the following as soon as possible and repeat it at suitable intervals:

     The Department of Health (DH) announced today (September 24) that as the Hong Kong Observatory has issued the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8, Methadone Clinics (except Ho Man Tin Methadone Clinic) will commence operation as soon as practicable and stay open until the closing time. All other DH clinics will remain closed.

The Hong Kong Observatory issued the No. 8 Southeast Gale or Storm Signal at 1.20pm today (September 24). It replaced the Hurricane Signal No. 10.
    
As at 11am, the Home Affairs Department opened 50 temporary shelters in various districts and 816 people sought refuge at the shelters.
   
Regarding reports of fallen trees, the Government’s 1823 Call Centre, the Fire Services Department and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department received 199 reports, 237 reports and one report respectively as at noon.
    
In addition, as at 1pm, the Civil Engineering and Development Department received one report of landslide while the Drainage Services Department received 15 reports of flooding.
   
According to the Hospital Authority, as at noon, 62 people (37 males and 25 females) were injured during the typhoon period. They received medical treatments at the Accident and Emergency departments of public hospitals.
