Government confirms to continue taking forward acquisition work of Wang Chi House

A spokesman for the Housing Bureau said today (September 3) that more than three-quarters of the owners of Wang Chi House (Block H) of Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po have signed the Agreement for Sale and Purchase as of yesterday (September 2), accounting for a total of 188 households and representing about 75.8 per cent of the total number of flats in that block. According to the follow-up arrangements for Wang Chi House announced earlier, the Government confirmed that it will continue to take forward the acquisition work of Wang Chi House and sign the assignment with its owners progressively to complete the relevant procedures on title acquisition.

The deadline for owners of Wang Fuk Court to accept the Government’s acquisition offer expired earlier. Taking into account the “Letter of Acceptance” received after the deadline with a postmark on or before August 31, a total of 1 971 owners (99.3 per cent) from the eight buildings from Blocks A to H of Wang Fuk Court have signed and returned the “Letter of Acceptance” to confirm their intention to sell their titles to the Government. As of yesterday, the Government has signed the Agreement for Sale and Purchase with 1 595 households (about 80.4 per cent) of the eight buildings from Blocks A to H of Wang Fuk Court.

The Government will continue to follow up on the procedures for acquiring the remaining titles at full speed to take forward the title acquisition exercise.
