HK teams add 2 bronzes

Secretary for Culture, Sports & Tourism Rosanna Law today congratulated Hong Kong athletes on winning bronze medals in table tennis and esports events.

Table tennis players Doo Hoi-kem and Ng Wing-lam secured a bronze medal in the women’s doubles event.

Miss Law noted that Doo Hoi-kem competed despite suffering from an injury, facing tremendous challenges alongside her partner. 

“They adjusted their mindset during the match, gave their utmost effort, and performed to their standard, ultimately securing a medal for the Hong Kong, China table tennis team at this year’s Asian Games,” Miss Law said.

Meanwhile, esports athletes Cheng Ka-hin, Kwok Ho-wa, Kong Tsz-kin, Li Ka-hing, Deng Xin-zhan and Chui Sum-ki clinched a bronze medal in the MOBA, or multiplayer online battle arena, Honor of Kings event. The win delivers a second esports medal for Hong Kong, China at the Games.

Miss Law praised the squad’s team spirit.

The Hong Kong, China Delegation has so far won 34 medals – five gold, 12 silver and 17 bronze – at the Asian Games.
